A Quiet Sun Threatens Decades of Harsh Winters! : By Michael Minkoff
from Doofiegirl on 06/25/2015 03:42 PMBrace yourself: Winter is coming. According to climate scientists, who apparently have just recently started looking at the sun, a quiet sun is going to cause a severe dip in global temperatures—possibly resulting in another "Little Ice Age":
http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/586404/Britain-freezing-winters-slump-solar-activity
Climate experts warn the amount of light and warmth released by the sun is nosediving to levels "not seen for centuries."
They fear a repeat of the so-called 'Maunder Minimum' which triggered Arctic winter whiteouts and led to the River Thames freezing 300 years ago.
The Met Office-led study warns although the effect will be offset by recent global warming, Britain faces years of unusually cold winters.
A spokesman said: "A return to low solar activity not seen for centuries could increase the chances of cold winters in Europe and eastern parts of the United States but wouldn't halt global warming."
Did you catch that? In spite of very clear evidence to the contrary, not one of the climate scientists is willing to admit that "global warming" may have been caused by an unusually active sun. Global temperatures go through cycles as our nearly sole (no pun intended) source of heat goes through cycles of solar minimum and maximum. That seems to me to be the easiest explanation for cooling and warming cycles in earth's history.
Here's how it works. The sun has an electromagnetic field which contains the power of the sun's constant fusion reaction. In the balancing act between the restraining force of the field and the explosive force of fusion, sometimes the fusion wins a little bit and sometimes the field wins a little bit. When fusion wins, a little bit of the fusion power breaks through in a solar flare. When the field wins, it creates a sunspot—a "dark" spot where the sun's activity is slightly diminished. Strangely, the area around a sunspot is even more active than normal, and this increased activity usually results in greater overall energy output. In other words: Lots of sunspots equals a hotter sun; fewer sunspots equals a cooler sun.
image: http://cdn1.eaglerising.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/solar-cycle-300x225.jpg
solar cycleThe sun's electro-magnetic field goes through cycles. Its polarity reverses, usually over the course of about 11 years. In that time, sunspots appear at the equator of the sun, and diminish as they travel to the poles. In addition to the 11-year cycle for polarity reversal, there are also larger cycles in the sun's activity with attending variations in sunspot formation. A period (usually lasting longer than the 11-year solar cycle) with unusually low sunspot activity (cool sun) is called a grand solar minimum. A period with unusually high sunspot activity (hot sun) is called a grand solar maximum.
Now, let's look at the sunspot data. It's very interesting.
There was the Medieval Maximum, a time of great heat and extended growing seasons, but also a time when vermin became nearly uncontrollable due to the combination of mild winters, no refrigeration, and bad hygiene. Bubonic Plague, anyone? Then we had a declining cycle of minimums bottoming out in the Maunder Minimum of the mid 17th century. Global temperatures dropped to the lowest ever. The Thames froze over. People ice-skated on Dutch dykes. You know. It was cold and bleak. But at least most of the rats died.
Then starting in 1900, you had a steady rise of sunspot activity, culminating in the Modern Maximum—a period of sunspot activity far exceeding the previous high water mark of Medieval times. The "global warming" trend (and "hockey stick") actually tracks perfectly with solar sunspot activity. Then, about ten years ago or so, sunspot activity started dipping into another grand solar minimum. It was around this time that climate "scientists" started dropping the "global warming" label and started talking about "climate change" instead.
They talk about a global warming "hiatus" and act like climate cycles are not a clear established fact of history and science. They're still not giving up, are they? You've got to hand it to them. At least they're persistent. Now that it looks like we're heading into an even lower minimum, it will be interesting to see how humans and industry are still responsible for that too.
There is no need for the anthropogenic explanation for climate cycles. If you overlay climate data with solar cycles, the correlation is absolutely remarkable. Why climate "scientists" have insisted on a human cause for climate change can be chalked up to the pitfalls of groupthink, the politicization of science, and the baffling and intransigent ignorance of the populace.
Does that mean that humans should just keep burning fossil fuel at massive rates? No. There are other reasons to develop so-called "clean energy." Air and (especially) water quality are still important for healthy, happy living. It's just probably not the end of the world, at least not from bad weather. Will that stop governments from using the apocalyptic narrative to get you to toe the line? Nope. Not until hell freezes over.

Anarchy & Apathy by Roseann Salanitri
from Doofiegirl on 06/25/2015 03:11 PMMany recognize that the character and nature of the country we love is breathing its last breath. A good argument can be made that the despotic twins of anarchy and apathy lie at the root of its demise.
[adsanity id=15905 align=alignleft /]In the 1960s, the world watched as civil rights demonstrations erupted across the nation. Nearly 100 years after the Civil War and the Emancipation Proclamation, slavery had ended but racism was alive and well – in spite of the lives lost and the 14th Amendment. These demonstrations were controlled and orderly due to the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who had the wisdom to understand that the abuses being experienced by people of color would not be eradicated by violence. Violence, as he rightly understood, would only lead to more violence, which would ultimately result in more racism.
Today, the race riots we see in places like Baltimore and Ferguson bear no resemblance to the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s – and they prove Dr. King right. They have lead to more violence and more racism, as was evident in Charleston, South Carolina. They are not based on rational protests and usually only represent the worst of the urban cultures that manifest the hatred that results from hopelessness and fatherlessness. The rioters in these cities and those like it are not civil rights activists. For them, gang leaders have replaced absentee fathers and drug dealers have become their financial role models. This is evidenced by the nature of their rioting, which demonstrates a total disregard and disrespect for personal property and any symbol of authority. They are angry and they are anarchists.
[adsanity id=8405 align=alignleft /]"Anarchy" is defined as a state of lawlessness that results in social and political disorder due to the absence of governmental control. Its Greek root means "without a ruler." For these new age anarchists that translates to growing up on their own without proper parental supervision – thus lacking the most basic of government structures: a traditional family unit. Their plight may be the most visible form of anarchy in these United States. But it is not the only one.
Then there is its twin: apathy. Since it has been reported that nearly 75% of Christians do not vote, and therefore their values fail to occupy the halls of government, many of their contemporaries do their best to drag out as many of the 75% as they can to the voting polls. But the battle has been a long one and often renders disappointing results. If "apathy" equates to dispassion and disinterest in matters of importance, then the 75% are inarguably apathetic. The 25% realize that in a Republic the supreme power rests in the body of its citizens who are entitled to vote for representatives that share their values and ideologies. And they also believe that if they can somehow energize the 75% to vote, all that was once right with America could be restored in record time. But the apathetic are content to cocoon themselves in a safe world where "conflict" is a word in somebody else's dictionary.
Unfortunately, the lawlessness in America today is not confined to the urban districts alone. It extends to the halls of Congress, the White House, and through the court system – up to and including the United States Supreme Court. The people who have risen to positions where they are entrusted to preserve and protect our Constitution, which is our system of government and law, are the worst of the anarchists. They have little regard for the laws of the land. They may wear nicer clothes than the anarchists in the cities, and they make speak proper English, but since they are lawless, they are anarchists just the same. And in many cases, grow the apathetic realm more than most realize.
It may be hard to pinpoint where all this anarchy began. Its repercussions are often subtle and cannot be blamed on the apathy of the multitudes. Actually, it's the other way around. The apathy of the multitudes can be blamed on the anarchists – but not those in the cities. The root of America's apathy lies mostly at the feet of those that wear the fancy clothes and speak proper English. The Bible tells us that anarchy is the root of apathy. Matthew 24:12, states: "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." This is exactly what we are experiencing today.
Although well-disguised at the time, the roots of anarchy were visible during the Watergate scandal. While some of the country remained glued to the news to hear about every little development, many others remained indifferent. It was not uncommon to hear: "They're all crooks. Nixon just got caught." That frame of mind continues with the apathetic today. They excuse bad behavior as something that is common place and therefore should be expected and thus tolerated. They would be very surprised to learn that their indifference has helped to perpetuate the demise of America. It may be true that we get what we deserve, but we also get what we expect.
The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) also played a key role in establishing anarchy in many ways but most notably by allowing abortions in this country. With one fatal decision they disregarded the natural law and the principle of the "right to life" established in our Declaration of Independence. Now they are at it again. This time their assault will possibly strike a blow at traditional marriage, an institution established by God and not man. In this instance, Justices (or should I say "anarchists"?) violated federal law and the code of ethics as for judges as detailed in Canon 3A(6) and Canon 2(A) by taking public advocacy positions and officiating at same-sex marriages while the issue is before the court. On the "right" side of the issue is the Foundation for Moral Law that has filed two motions in the Supreme Court urging these two justices to recuse themselves from the case. Whether nor not they do remains to be seen. The anarchists wearing black robes just may be the worst kind of anarchists, but they would not exist without the sanctions of our representatives.
Of course the list of anarchists includes all governors who have signed Second Amendment bills into law that infringe upon our constitutional right to purchase and carry firearms; or have signed family-oriented legislation that has infringed upon the God-ordained family unit (including the biblical admonition to all parents to be responsible for the education of their children); and all legislators that allowed healthcare to be enacted – clearly knowing it was outside the purview of their powers as enumerated in the Constitution, as well as creating specific welfare for themselves by accepting an unconstitutional exemption from Obamacare; and all judges that have legislated from the bench, etc., etc., etc. They are all anarchists because they have disregarded the laws they pledged to uphold and in so doing have caused some to become indifferent and disengaged. Realistically, their anarchy has done more to destroy America than any ISIS terrorist could fantasize.
This is another instance where the Bible has proven to be as wise socially as it is spiritually. When our legislators refuse to do the right thing and disregard our laws, when our judges become a law unto themselves, or when hoodlums vandalize their neighborhoods, the base of anarchy broadens and more and more people become apathetic. Apathy may be a visible problem in America today but at its root is anarchy. In order for all laws – both natural and constitutional – to be restored, the apathetic must wake up from their longtime nap and reverse the Catch 22 situation that is presently orchestrating our doom. However, as long as the sleeping dopamine of anarchy is injected into their veins, it is very unlikely that anything will change and America will continue on her present course of destruction.
May God have mercy on America.

GOP lawmakers question CBO score on ObamaCare repeal : By Peter Sullivan
from Doofiegirl on 06/25/2015 03:04 PMThe report says repeal would add $137 billion to the deficit over 10 years — a huge sum that could complicate the GOP's response to the looming Supreme Court King v. Burwell ruling on the healthcare law, which is expected as early as Thursday.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) criticized the CBO report's "tortured logic," while Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) predicted it would not be accurate.
Senate Budget Committee Chairman Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) dismissed the estimate, noting the scorekeeper wasn't looking at a specific GOP repeal bill, so "it doesn't really count."
The comments highlight the importance of the score, which could make it more difficult for the GOP to use a fast-track process known as reconciliation to repeal the law.
They also highlight the tension among Republicans, who are struggling to rally around a response to the coming King v. Burwell ruling.
Reconciliation would prevent the Senate minority from filibustering a bill repealing the Affordable Care Act, meaning the GOP could pass it with no Democratic votes. As a result, Republicans have keyed in on the legislative maneuver.
However, reconciliation requires that a measure reduce the deficit, not add to it.
The GOP criticism of the CBO is all the more notable because Republicans earlier this year handpicked Keith Hall, the organization's new director. Hall, who served as staff economist for former President George W. Bush, replaced former Director Douglas Elmendorf, whose scores had sometimes led to GOP complaints.
The budget office often faces criticism from lawmakers in both parties who disagree with its scores, and it did not comment for this story.
Republican angst has been growing in recent weeks as the Supreme Court ruling has neared.
If the court rules against the administration, it could invalidate insurance subsidies for an estimated 6.4 million people using the law's federally run marketplaces in at least 34 states.
The GOP response plan outlined by House leadership last week includes repeal of ObamaCare after two years.
Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), who is leading the Senate Republican effort to find a response to King v. Burwell, has said the GOP plans to use reconciliation for its response.
House Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-Ga.) said Republicans could not use reconciliation to repeal all of ObamaCare, however, because of Senate rules limiting the process to taxing and spending issues. http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/246087-republicans-knock-cbo-health-score
GOP lawmaker: US strategy on Iran is 'totally incoherent' : By Kristina Wong -
from Doofiegirl on 06/25/2015 02:49 PMThe U.S. policy toward Iran is inconsistent and incoherent, a Republican House lawmaker said Wednesday.
"A big concern that I have is the incoherence of strategy in the region, especially vis-a-vis Iran — the elephant in the room," said Rep. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) at a Armed Services Committee hearing.
She said the U.S. was "doing everything we can" to reach a nuclear deal with Iran, but on the other hand, allowing Iranian military commander Gen. Qassem Soleimani "to be the ground force commander" of a Shiite-militia in Iraq.
She noted that the U.S. provided airpower to help Iraqi security forces and Iran-backed Shiite-militia take the Iraqi city of Tikrit, but opposes Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
"It's totally incoherent," McSally said.
She said the inconsistencies have an effect on the Sunni minority in the country, who were persecuted under the former Shiite-dominated government run by Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki.
U.S. defense officials say there is no coordination with Iranian-backed forces in Iraq, but acknowledged on Tuesday that some of them shared the same base in eastern Anbar Province, first reported by Bloomberg View.
The news had prompted outrage from Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), an Iraq veteran, who said Iran had supplied the "most advanced, most lethal roadside bombs used against coalition forces."
"Many American soldiers lost their lives to Iran's proxies and Iranian-supplied bombs. Further, Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism and has been attacking the United States for decades," he said in a statement Tuesday.
"It's deeply troubling that the President now finds it acceptable to share a military base with this enemy, even while we are attempting to negotiate a deal to keep Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons," he said.
Director of the American Enterprise Institute's Critical Threats Project Fred Kagan, who testified at the hearing, said the report highlighted the challenge of helping Iraq without also empowering Iran, which has increased its influence in Iraq after the fall of dictator Saddam Hussein.
"Empowering Iran to control Iraq would be disastrous both for the fight against ISIS and for U.S. interests broadly," Kagan said in his prepared testimony.
He said the Iranian government "repeatedly and explicitly describes the goal of its strategy as expelling the United States from the region entirely" and establishing Iranian hegemony in its place.
He added that said Iranian support for the Shiite-dominated government has worsened sectarian division in Iraq and persuaded Sunnis to turn to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and other groups for protection. http://thehill.com/policy/defense/246079-gop-lawmaker-us-strategy-towards-iran-is-totally-incoherent
House votes to weaken Obama’s climate rule By Timothy Cama and Cristina Marcos
from Doofiegirl on 06/25/2015 02:45 PMThe House voted Wednesday to delay the Environmental Protection Agency's climate rule for power plants and let state governors opt out of complying.
The bill, passed 247-180, is a major blow to the main pillar of President Obama's effort to reduce the greenhouse gases that cause climate change, although the White House has promised a veto to protect his legacy.
Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-Ky.), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's power subpanel, sponsored the legislation as House Republicans' principal response to the EPA's climate rule. The rule has become the most controversial aspect of the Obama administration's environmental policy, and one of its most controversial regulations.
Under the bill, state governors could opt out of adopting state plans for the EPA's regulation if such a plan would harm electricity rates, reliability or important economic sectors in the states.
The regulation's enforcement would also be delayed until all court challenges are resolved.
The GOP believes that the rule will not withstand judicial review, so the delay is designed to ensure that the regulation never takes effect.
"They've picked up a shotgun and pointed it at the heart of the American economy, our power generation," Rep. Pete Olson (R-Texas) said of the EPA.
But Democrats warned it would ultimately gut the regulation intended to help mitigate the effects of climate change.
"This 'just say no' bill would effectively give governors the power to sabotage EPA's proposed clean power plan by allowing them to opt out of the federal requirements of the plan based on arbitrary and ambiguous determinations," said Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.).
The EPA proposed the regulation last June, and plans to make it final this August. It seeks a 30 percent cut in the carbon emissions of the nation's power plants by 2030, with specific targets assigned to each state.
Regulators will give states 13 months to draft plans to hit their targets. If they don't, the EPA will write its own plans and impose them — something the GOP is trying to prevent.
"Earlier we heard the gentleman from Illinois say that this was a 'just say no' bill," Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) said in response to Rush. "You bet it is. That's exactly what it is. It's a 'just say no' bill. No to a weaker electric grid. No to fewer jobs, particularly in manufacturing and also in the coal and energy industries."
The White House sees the bill as a threat to the centerpiece of Obama's climate legacy, and it has threatened a veto. http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/246053-house-votes-to-weaken-obamas-climate-rule
CITIZENS UNITED POLL: NOT FAVORABLE TO CAREER POLITICIANS
from Doofiegirl on 06/25/2015 02:31 PMResults of a new poll show that Americans are fed up with career politicians and the establishment Republican base. In a Citizens United poll, Dr. Ben Carson came out as the top pick out of 2016 GOP presidential candidates.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker came in second by just .1 percent.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)93%
came in third at 15.9 percent, and real estate mogul Donald Trump came in at fourth place with 13.1 percent.
Citizens United, an organization for limited government, surveyed its members across America to find out whom they are currently supporting in the full field of GOP presidential candidates.
According to Citizens United, roughly 4,300 individuals took its online survey – not a scientific poll – on June 16th to June 23rd.
"These results make one thing perfectly clear: grassroots conservatives are fed up with the failed status quo and want their next president to be an outsider with the guts to take on the establishment in Washington, D.C," stated David N. Bossie, President of Citizens United, in a press release announcing the poll results. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/06/24/trump-stuns-in-citizens-united-poll/
TOP WOMEN IN U.S. MEDIA SCOURGED IN 'HIT LIST' 'It's a call to the jihadist enemy to target and attack the 12 of us' : CHELSE
from Doofiegirl on 06/25/2015 12:41 PMAn extreme leftist organization has issued what critics contend is a "starter kit" for jihadists and a "hit list" that paints a target on the backs of a dozen high-profile women who are outspoken in their opposition to jihad and Shariah law.
The list, which includes unflattering sketches of the ladies it vilifies, is titled "Women Against Islam" and was compiled by Mark Potok and Janet Smith of the Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC.
Upon learning of her inclusion on SPLC's newest list, columnist and prolific author Ann Coulter was delighted.
"It's an honor just to be nominated for the SPLC's list of conservative women who speak out against radical Islam!" Coulter told WND.
Ann Coulter is back, more fearless than ever. Get her latest hit, "¡Adios, America!"
Likewise, Cathy Hinners, blogger at DailyRollCall.com and also a SPLC target, told WND she is pleased to be listed alongside the other fearless women.
"I certainly didn't expect something like that, but I'm very proud," Hinners said. "I think the other 11 women are certainly professional and well established. I look at them as patriots and warriors."
Cathy Adams, president of Texas Eagle Forum, was also featured.
"I think the SPLC list isn't as important as they'd like it to be," she told WND. "It surprises me that they'd choose me – so far down the list of others doing much more to sound the alarm against radicals."
In addition to highlighting Pamela Geller, president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative and WND columnist, in their list, Potok and Smith describe her as "the country's most flamboyant and visible Muslim-basher" and a "professional provocateur" with "a long and infamous record of smearing and demonizing Muslims."
"Who appointed the SPLC the judge of what is a hate group and what isn't? Its listing about me is made up of one lie after another, and that is no surprise," Geller told WND.
"The SPLC is the real hate group, using that label to demonize and stigmatize all who don't share their hard-left agenda. The SPLC smear machine does not profile jihad groups but they target and libel patriots, veterans, tea-party orgs and other groups that work in defense of freedom."

The text of the June 24 Media Reality Check:
Jabbing Jindal: The Media's Worst Attacks on the Louisiana Governor
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's expected jump into the 2016 GOP presidential nomination race is bound to be met by skepticism, if not an outright dismissal, by the liberal media if their reaction to his 2009 State of the Union response and his advocacy of fiscally and conservative views is any guide. Some in the media have even stooped to make an issue of his Indian-American heritage.
Most recently The Wasington Post promoted a Jindal profile by tweeting an insulting quote from a college professor who charged: "There's not much Indian left in Bobby Jindal." MSNBC's Chris Matthews made the kind of remark filled with racial overtones that he would've attacked a Republican for, when he said of the Jindal's response to Obama's SOTU address: "They had to outsource the response tonight, the Republican party." CBS's Maggie Rodriguez hailed how "Americans loved" Obama's speech that night but called Jindal a "Debbie Downer."
When Jindal opposed the Medicaid expansion that came with ObamaCare, because he was opposed to the idea of moving citizens off private care, he was accused of "endangering the health" of his Louisiana constituents by MSNBC's Karen Finney. And when Jindal appeared at a prayer rally, ABC's George Stephanopoulos blasted: "I was struck by the final line, 'Our God wins.' How do you think that lands in a country of 320 million people of many different kinds of spirituality, many different kinds of faith, many who believe in no god at all?"
The following are the media's worst attacks (so far) on Jindal from the MRC's archives:
# Chris Matthews: GOP "Outsourced" Response to Indian-American Governor
"They had to outsource the response tonight, the Republican party. They had to outsource to someone who had nothing to do with Congress because the Republicans in Congress had nothing to do with the programs he was talking about tonight or the record he referred to."
— Chris Matthews during MSNBC's live coverage of State of the Union speech, February 24, 2009.
# Right-Wing Jindal vs. Obama, the "Excellent" Centrist
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann: "What can the Republican response be?...How do you come out against recovering the nation's sense of self and its optimism? How do you come out against words like 'boldly, 'wisely,' 'swiftly,' and 'aggressively?'"
Co-anchor Chris Matthews: "[Bobby Jindal]....is running for the outside rail of the Republican Party, the right-wing rail....That's all the room that's left on that side because Barack has grabbed the center with the charm he showed tonight in his excellent rhetoric."
— MSNBC's live coverage following Obama's speech to Congress, February 24, 2009.
# CBS's Rodriguez: Americans "Loved" Obama Speech; Jindal A "Debbie Downer"
"And Americans loved it. The polls show that they're very optimistic, and then out comes Bobby Jindal, Debbie Downer, saying 'hated it, it's not going to work."
— CBS's Maggie Rodriguez discussing Jindal's response to Barack Obama's State of the Union Address on CBS's The Early Show, February 25, 2009.
# Scolding Bobby Jindal for Speaking at a Prayer Rally
"[Yesterday], Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal headlined a massive prayer rally called 'The Response' in Baton Rouge....[to Jindal] Is it the job of a President to lead a spiritual revival? And I was struck by the final line, 'Our God wins.' How do you think that lands in a country of 320 million people of many different kinds of spirituality, many different kinds of faith, many who believe in no god at all?"
— Host George Stephanopoulos on ABC's This Week, January 25, 2015.
# If You're Not for Big Welfare State You Don't Deserve Disaster Help
"When he [President Obama] sees people like [Louisiana Governor] Bobby Jindal, you know, standing up, screaming about more federal action, more federal aid, well, six months ago, that's not the person that Bobby Jindal was. He was a small-government, no federal aid kind of guy. And the President is calling out those people for hypocrisy."
— Politico chief political columnist Roger Simon, talking about the BP oil spill, on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports, June 15, 2010.
# Jindal Endangering His Louisiana Constituents?
"What do you say to Governor Jindal and others who are saying, you know, on the one hand, they're rejecting the Medicaid expansion, on the other hand, they, you know, that ideology is basically endangering the health of their citizens?"
— MSNBC's Karen Finney's question to panelist on MSNBC's Disrupt, July 1, 2013.
