Los Angeles Approves Minimum Wage Hike to $15 an Hour; "All of us will see the fruits of raising the wage in L.A.” : Sarah Fisher

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles City Council approved an ordinance that would raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2020. The Mayor has yet to sign the bill but he is expected to do so.

Eric Garcetti, would require businesses with more than 25 employees to gradually increase wages to meet a $15 hourly pay level by 2020, while smaller businesses would have an extra year to comply with each step.

"Today is a great day for Los Angeles and all the people who work hard to make our city a vibrant place to live and work," said Rusty Hicks of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor.

"After months of public debate and study, the City Council's vote puts us one step away from changing the lives of hundreds of thousands of hardworking Angelenos," he said. Ms. Dee was shot in the leg in the exchange of gunfire, but she said one of them was likely hit:

I was able to get to my gun. They didn't know I had it. By that time, it was just gunfire. We are regular people. We work every day. Me and my fiancé, we work every day. We don't do drugs. We don't do none of that.

When a longtime liberal media veteran with a couple decades of coverage under his belt blames "liberals and progressive[s]" for a "dangerous" culture of "political correctness run amuck," you know that a backlash is brewing.

Speaking on Black America Web, Don Lemon, host of CNN Tonight, expanded on Jerry Seinfeld's recent comments on the evils of political correctness. Do you allow room in your space for those who disagree with you? Do you ever call co-workers or the person you hear on the radio or see on TV stupid because you disagree with them or because they don't hold your same opinion about an issue? If so, then you might be too politically correct for your own good, for society's good.

The rant didn't stop there. Lemon continued:

We have to stop looking for reasons to be offended. We have to allow people leeway to make mistakes in conversations without calling them racist, bigots, stupid, dumb, sell outs and on and on. Not everyone is going to or do they have to agree with you. In fact, it's better when people don't agree with you. That's how we learn.

And here's where the politically-liberal, African-American host took his comments to the next level—calling out the political left for their insular and intolerant worldview:

After almost 25 years in the news business, you know who is the most easily offended and the least tolerant: Liberals and progressive – because many of them don't really want to hear anyone else's opinion but their own.

United Nations Caught In Sex Abuse Scandal ; "Investigations are mired in bureaucracy" Paul Bois

The United Nations has been caught in a sex abuse scandal.

Last year, French peacekeeping forces in the Central African Republic were revealed to have sexually abused boys as young as nine by forcing them to have oral sex. The abuse carried on for five months by an unknown number of soldiers. According to testimonies collected by the U.N., the boys were sometimes lured with the promise of military rations.

Though France has launched an investigation into the incident, one year later no one has been charged or punished as of yet. As peacekeepers, whether serving under the U.N. banner or their home countries — as in the case of the French soldiers — it's the home country's responsibility to investigate and prosecute the cases, as the U.N. has no jurisdiction over them.

The United Nations hasn't been a great help either, with officials keeping quiet about the issue, refusing to say anything in public that may embarrass the organization. Between 2008 and 2013, roughly one third of all sexual abuse allegations against U.N. personnel, both military and civilian, involved children.

An audit carried out by the Office of Internal Oversight found that U.N. investigations into these matters were "hindered by a complex architecture, prolonged delays, unknown and varying outcomes and severely deficient assistance." Bill: No More Paid Speeches if Hill Wins Says he will drop his $500K fee : Brian Lilley

If Hillary Clinton wins, Bill says he will stop taking paid speaking gigs. "Because once you get to be president, then you're just making a daily story. I will still give speeches, though, on the subjects I'm interested in, and I really enjoy those things," Clinton said during an interview with Bloomberg's Betty Liu at a meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative.

Bill Clinton has been charging $500,000 per speech to some of the biggest corporations in the world as well as to foreign governments and interests. Hillary had charged more than $300,000 per speech before giving up paid speaking engagements shortly before launching her presidential bid earlier this year.

Defending the work of his foundation, Clinton said that while there is plenty of innuendo, nothing has been proven.
