ISIS: Still Raging Hell as White House Dithers : By Sonya Sasser
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 06:43 PMAfter President Obama was criticized last week for not having a "complete strategy" to defeat the brutal terror group ISIS (Islamic State), he has now approved sending up to 450 additional U.S. troops to Iraq primarily to equip and train more Iraqis. But is this really going to make a difference?
Especially since the U.S. has already spent $25 billion in aid, investing in training and equipping the Iraqi military, only to have those brave warriors run from ISIS militants like high school cheerleaders. Not to mention the fact that the extremists captured significant quantities of US-manufactured weapons (from Iraqis) and have used them on the battlefield. The definition of insanity is attempting the same strategy over and over again expecting a different result.
As FOX host Bill O'Reilley pointed out, "Sending a few hundred more folks into Iraq because you're embarrassed, Mr. President, not a plan."
Lt. Col. Ralph Peters (Ret.) added, "The president has decided to take advice from his civilian advisors with no military experience, rather than from serious military planners. You cannot possibly defeat the Islamic State with these airstrikes controlled by lawyers."
It's been a year since ISIS began raping and pillaging its way through Iraq's Nineveh province, emptying the city of Mosul of its Christian population. Since then, ISIS has captured Fallujah and Ramadi, two other major cities U.S. troops fought and died to secure before Obama took office. The brutal regime has driven tens of thousands from Northern Iraq, kidnapped, tortured, and murdered thousands of Iraqi soldiers, raped hundreds of women and young girls, and committed countless beheadings, including that of Americans James Foley and Steven Sotloff.
There is estimated to be 31,000 militants on the fields of Iraq and Syria, doubling their number since last fall.
ISIS is much more than the "JV team" President Obama once described, and it's not going away any time soon. It is an established army with thirty-five square miles of prime Middle East real estate, raking in nearly up to $3 million per day in revenue.
The ultimate long-term goal of ISIS is to expand its current state to the four corners of the earth, imposing Sharia law on all mankind and either slaughtering those who do not comply, or forcing them to live a humiliating second-class existence. Of course, it does indeed, have the United States in its sights. In fact, the group is already attempting to use Libya as its new 'route to the West'.

Disney Fires 250 U.S. Workers, Forces Them to Train Their Foreign Replacements : By Shannon Grady
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 06:36 PMThis photo was found on the Disney career page and should probably include the disclaimer that the United States flag is purposely missing. The reason is because Disney has reportedly fired 250 American workers and then forced them to train their foreign replacements. I first learned about this Disney drama via social media and it seemed a likely candidate for my "bogus story of the week"– until I dug a little deeper and discovered it was, sadly, true.
The New York Times covered the story earlier this month and other news programs have picked up the shocking details. If you wonder how this could possibly be legal within U.S. laws you will be equally shocked to learn that a bill passed to help bring highly skilled workers from outside the country. The bill resulted in a new version of visa for immigrants seeking employment in the U.S. and is called H-1B.
According to the federal guidelines, the visas were only intended to place highly skilled workers in jobs that no American workers could be found to fill. The guidelines specifically state that the visa should not adversely affect the wages and working conditions of Americans. Yet, major companies like Disney, Google, Facebook, and others have found loopholes to escape the guidelines being enforced. They have even lobbied Congress to increase the number of visas issued each year from the 85,000 currently granted, too many more.
The H-1B visas are attractive to companies because they can pay the immigrant workers a lower wage which can reportedly be anywhere from 25 percent to as much as 49 percent of what they previously paid. Some senators have taken action and written a bipartisan letter to the federal authorities in charge of immigration. The senators said that the H-1B visas were of concern because, "Their frequency seems to have increased dramatically in the past year alone."
Other companies that have used the visas or have plans to follow the layoff and retrain immigrants include popular watch maker Fossil, which plans to replace over 100 employees with the H-1B visas. And Northeast Utilities has also laid off 350 workers and used the H-1B visas to replace many of the previous American employees. Could YOUR job be next?

Retired Teacher Responds to Michelle Obama’s Complaints By Lou Ellen Brown
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 06:34 PMAfter reading the recent New York Times article entitled, "Michelle Obama Talks About Race and Success, and Makes it Personal" I wanted to share my own struggles with poverty, and how I overcame (truly) great odds without bitterness or anger. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/11/us/michelle-obama-king-college-prep-and-tuskegee-graduation-speeches.html?smid=fb-share&_r=1
I graduated from high school in the Texas Panhandle area in 1955. Thanks be to God and my dad I enrolled in North Texas State Teachers' College in Denton, Texas that fall, and during that year, my little college integrated fully and Black students began to enroll. Wisely, the administration was in control, no outside news seekers or trouble makers were allowed on campus, and the years/semesters 1955, '56 and '57 carried on as usual. No riots, no mass exit of White students, just one event of someone writing a rude comment on a sidewalk in CHALK. There, we did that, and nobody ever looked back and regretted the 'change' as it was not turned into any kind of problem that hurt or troubled anyone.
I graduated there and out into the world to seek my fortune. I loved Denton then and again as I returned to get a Masters' Degree as I have applied for and received a Fellowship to teach as I earned my degree.
In that year, I was amazed to learn that my husband and I were going to be parens, and I lost my Fellowship because no pregnant professors were allowed. End of a sad moment, but Ann-Marie and Lisa were well worth the way things went after that. The babies were a year and nine days apart, and we the parents were both teaching in the Rio Grande area near El Paso, Texas.
My story was not over then, but I had only 12 classmates in my tiny high school grad class, nobody handed me a free four year pass to college or made me go, except my parents, not poverty, but close. I had no car and no job, but a mom and dad who wanted more for me than what they had.
43 years and some hard work made me very proud to say that I didn't do it alone, but "I did it my way," and I do not think Ms. Obama is winning any fans when she lives on my dime, so to speak, and whines about not being idolized enough by the millions who do truly praise her. God has it anyway, and she needs to be more grateful for her chance to serve in a more American manner.

U of Cal. Bans 'America Is The Land Of Opportunity' And Other Racist, Sexist Phrases : Jeff Dunetz
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 05:04 PMRodin's "The Thinker" must be doing a face palm.
One of the initiatives of the President of the University of California system, former DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, is to ensure that no student or university employee is insulted by "microaggressions" - terms which subconsciously have racist, sexist, or other kinds of statements with biased sub-context. Or, to put it another way, the University of California is now a proponent of political correctness gone mad.
Napolitano initiated a program where officials were taught not to use phrases such as:
"America is the land of opportunity" (apparently the statement "asserts that race and gender do not play a role in life successes"),
"There is only one race, the human race'" (this denies the "significance of a person of color's racial/ethnic experience and history")
"I believe the most qualified person should get the job," (meaning: "People of color are given extra unfair benefits because of their race.)."
The full list was on the handout given at the classes, "Tool: Recognizing Microaggressions and the Messages they Send," which is embedded below.
As reported by The College Fix other sayings deemed unacceptable include:
● "Everyone can succeed in this society, if they work hard enough."
● "Where are you from or where were you born?"
● "Affirmative action is racist."
● "When I look at you, I don't see color." http://www.mrctv.org/blog/u-ca-profs-told-not-say-us-land-opportunity-its-racist-sexist-microaggression#.40fcrl:Ndr8
Ronald Reagan Packed Heat as President, Secret Service Reveals : Monica Sanchez
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 05:01 PMSecret Service revealed to author and NY Daily News journalist Brad Meltzer former President Ronald Reagan's biggest secret:
That he carried a .38 in his briefcase.
The thriller novelist learned about Reagan's secret while researching for his book The President's Shadow.
Meltzer writes,
"So there I was, on my tour of Secret Service headquarters. The agents had taken me into a small museum they have on the premises. It's a room lined with photos of Presidents and archival exhibit cases filled with Secret Service artifacts. A newspaper with a "Kennedy Dead" headline. A replica of Lee Harvey Oswald's rifle. The pistol used to try to kill President Gerald Ford. They even have the actual car door from the limo when Reagan was shot.
"It was an eerie keepsake for sure. But not nearly as eerie as the next detail they told me. We were talking about Reagan and that day he was shot. Then one of the agents offered this secret: When Reagan was President, he carried his own gun.
"I couldn't believe it.
"'It's true,' they said. A .38. Reagan used to hide it in his briefcase and take it on Air Force One."
He adds,
"Whatever you think of Reagan, you have to admit, he had a black belt in badassery." http://www.mrctv.org/blog/ronald-reagan-packed-heat-president-secret-service-reveals#.40fcrl:bK8E
No Wonder Obama Won't Let Us Read TPP : By Phyllis Schlafly
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 04:56 PMOn Friday, Congress disrupted President Obama's plan for a sweeping transfer of U.S. sovereignty to an unaccountable group of foreign busybodies. Hurray for the stalwart Americans who resisted the demands of Obama, the Republican leadership and the big-donor claque, but Speaker Boehner plans to give Congress another chance this week to make this dangerous mistake.
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) would turn over to globalists the power to issue regulations about U.S. trade, immigration, the environment, labor and commerce. It's called a "living agreement," which means the globalists can amend and change the text of the so-called agreement after it has gone into effect.
That reminds me of our supremacist judges who invented the term of a "living" Constitution, which they can rewrite to comport with their own updated ideology. The globalists claim this "living" document (TPP), now called Obamatrade, has all the powers of a treaty to commit the U.S. to new foreign obligations, although it certainly did not comply with any U.S. constitutional provisions for treaty ratification.
Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., has frankly warned about this giveaway of U.S. sovereignty. Not only would Congress give up its powers to negotiate and write the terms of a treaty, but Congress also gives up its powers to debate and amend the deal, to apply a cloture vote in the Senate, and to require a two-thirds vote in the Senate.
The secrecy wrapped around TPP is appallingly un-American. Whatever happened to Obama's promise of "transparency"? TPP was negotiated and agreed to by Obama's trade representative and a bunch of foreigners in a secret room, and the American people are not allowed to know the details until after it's a done deal.
TPP puts us in a new political and economic union before a single private citizen is told about it and with public opinion running five to one against it. Remember when Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass Obamacare in order to find out what is in it?
Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., warns, "TPP calls for the formation of a permanent political and economic union known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership Commission, which will have power to issue regulations impacting not only trade, but immigration, the environment, labor and commerce. He added, Congress "will have surrendered its legislative prerogatives. Before a word, line, paragraph or page of this plan is made public, Congress will have even agreed to give up its treaty powers." http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/2015/06/16/no-wonder-obama-wont-let-us-read-tpp/?subscriber=1
Hillary Clinton ducks questions on trade deals during New Hampshire visit By Guardian Web
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 04:54 PMMoments before Jeb Bush formally declared his candidacy for president in Miami, Hillary Clinton stole away some of the spotlight with the first official press conference of her campaign – in which she refused once again to take an explicit position on Barack Obama's historic trade deal with Asia.
The Democrat frontrunner for president addressed reporters on a rainy Monday afternoon following a rally with supporters at a barn tucked away in an orchard in New Hampshire, ending a monthlong media drought. Despite being asked point-blank if she supports giving Obama so-called fast-track authority to negotiate the landmark 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Clinton declined to weigh in on what she called "a process issue".
The question, Clinton said, was not whether she was for or against the deal – no matter what ends up in it – but whether "its broad outlines can be improved or not to meet the legitimate questions and objections that members of Congress have raised".
"I have said from the beginning, the [trade promotion authority] is a process issue," Clinton said of Obama's fast-track negotiating authority, which would bar Congress from amending any trade deal negotiated by the White House. "The issue for me is what's in the deal. I think now there's an opportunity for the president and his team to reach out and meet with the people who have said... that we need a better deal. I will wait and see what the deal is and then I will tell you what I think about it."
Pressed again on whether Congress should have fast-track authority to negotiate trade pacts – and if she would want such authority if elected president – Clinton again said the matter was for Obama to resolve with the Democrats who are opposed to his trade agenda and voted against him in a stinging rebuke on Friday.
"I believe that you take whatever happens to you in a negotiation, and you leverage it," she said. "In this case, I believe that one of the ways the president can get fast-track authority is to deal with the legitimate concerns of those Democrats who are potential 'yes' votes to see if what's in the existing framework agreement... could be modified or changed."
Clinton added that Obama has negotiated "very hard" and acknowledged the process was "complicated". http://www.gopusa.com/news/2015/06/16/hillary-clinton-ducks-questions-on-trade-deals-during-new-hampshire-visit/?subscriber=1
Jeb! By Associated Press
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 04:51 PMMIAMI (AP) -- Jeb Bush is ready to launch a Republican presidential bid months in the making Monday by asserting his commitment to the "most vulnerable in our society," an approach targeting the broader American electorate even as he faces questions about his policies from conservatives in his own party.
Six months after he got the 2016 campaign started by saying he was considering a bid, the 62-year-old former Florida governor will formally enter the race with a speech and rally near his south Florida home at Miami Dade College, an institution selected because it serves a large and diverse student body symbolic of the nation he seeks to lead.
"My core beliefs start with the premise that the most vulnerable in our society should be in the front of the line and not the back," Bush says in a video featuring women, minorities and a disabled child to be aired at the event before his Monday afternoon announcement speech. "What we need is new leadership that takes conservative principles and applies them so that people can rise up."
Before Monday's event, the Bush campaign unveiled a new logo that features his first name with an exclamation point - Jeb! - a branding decision that conspicuously leaves out the Bush surname.
Bush joins the crowded Republican campaign in some ways in a commanding position. The brother of one president and son of another, Bush has likely raised a record breaking amount of money to support his candidacy and conceived of a new approach on how to structure his campaign, both aimed at allowing him to make a deep run into the GOP primaries.
But on other measures, early public opinion polls among them, he has yet to break out. While unquestionably one of the top-tier candidates in the GOP race, he is also only one of several in a capable Republican field that does not have a true front-runner.
In the past six months, Bush has made clear he will remain committed to his core beliefs in the campaign to come - even if his positions on immigration and education standards are deeply unpopular among the conservative base of the party that plays an outsized role in the GOP primaries.
"I'm not going to change who I am," Bush said as he wrapped up a week-long European trip this weekend. "I respect people who may not agree with me, but I'm not going to change my views because today someone has a view that's different."
Bush is one of 11 major Republicans in the hunt for the nomination. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Ohio Gov. John Kasich are among those still deciding whether to join a field that could end up just shy of 20. http://www.gopusa.com/news/2015/06/15/jeb/
The Iowa Straw Poll is irrelevant. Is Iowa?
from Doofiegirl on 06/16/2015 04:48 PMIn 1987, when Vice President George Bush ran for president, he suffered a major embarrassment early: He lost the Ames Straw Poll to televangelist Pat Robertson. He later lost the Iowa Republican caucuses to Kansas Sen. Bob Dole. In the end, he had to settle for a consolation prize: the presidency, which he won over Democrat Michael Dukakis in November.
The Ames event, for decades a marquee event on the campaign calendar, may have taken a fatal blow four years ago -- or rather two fatal blows. The first was that victory went to the erratic firebrand Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., whose candidacy soon imploded on her way to coming in last in the caucuses.
The second was the third-place finish of former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who immediately abandoned the race, depriving the party of a talented and more moderate contender who might have provided a winning alternative to Mitt Romney.
Besides raising money for the state party, the straw poll traditionally was supposed to winnow out the weak aspirants in favor of the strong. But, as in 2011, it often failed in that function. In 2012, even Republican Gov. Terry Branstad said, "I think the straw poll has outlived its usefulness."
On Friday, the Iowa Republican Party recognized the straw poll's obsolescence and voted to close it down.
"We set the table and they didn't come to dinner," state party chairman Jeff Kaufmann lamented. One problem is that many credible candidates have elected to bypass Ames on the theory that the risk of losing is greater than any benefit from winning. In 2011, Romney skipped it, just as John McCain had done four years earlier.
This year, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Mike Huckabee indicated they wouldn't compete in the contest, which the party had decided to move to Boone in order to reduce costs. Others were not sure things either.
"Only Ben Carson made a public commitment to be there," reported The Wall Street Journal. It would be hard to write a sentence that better defines irrelevance than that one.
What Iowans may be figuring out is that the caucuses themselves also don't matter as much as they used to. More often than not, GOP caucus victors don't wind up winning the nomination. http://www.gopusa.com/freshink/2015/06/16/the-iowa-straw-poll-is-irrelevant-is-iowa/?subscriber=1
