Boston City Hall Gets Gender Neutral Bathrooms : Sarah Fisher

"Mayor Martin J. Walsh established gender-neutral bathrooms in Boston's City Hall Thursday, according to a statement from the city. The move comes during Boston's Pride Week, which celebrates the LGBT community and raises awareness of discrimination." http://www.cityofboston.gov/news/default.aspx?id=20163
USA Today explains the new bathrooms "can be used by anyone including individuals who may identify as transgender, caregivers helping someone of another gender and parents with small children."

"Boston thrives on diversity, and is an inclusive city," Walsh said in the statement. "This change will foster a safe and welcoming environment for employees and visitors."
The bathrooms are located outside the Mayor's office and the city council chambers.
"Gender-neutral bathrooms are important in providing a safe place for all people to use the facilities when needed without fear of harassment by others," Ruben Hopwood, a coordinator of the Transgender Health Program at Fenway Health, said in a statement, responding to the news. http://www.cityofboston.gov/news/default.aspx?id=20163
