Re: Which is the hardest language to learn?
from Marianne on 06/11/2015 01:59 PMIt is hard to say which language is the most difficult to learn. It depends on the learners' skills, motivation and means (dictionaries, etc.), it depends on the teacher, and it depends on the language to be learned, and if it is quite a different family and writing, it will be all the more a challenge.
In Europe, they say that Russian (language group including Ukrainian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Serbian, etc.), German and Latin are the most difficult in Grammar (and for the Russian group, the cyrillic alphabet is an additional challenge), but various other languages and groups are very complicated too, if thinking of the Ugro-Finnish group, Polish, Czech, Greek, Basque, Gaelic (whether Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Brittonic, etc.), or Albanian, etc.
In Asia, Chinese has various language groups and writings, India and Sri Lanka are a melting pot of varied cultures and languages, Japan has also several main languages and writings, and South East Asia has a similar variation of languages and cultures.
And on the American side, Native languages and their groups might be a complicated "puzzle" - filled with poetry ...
Michael Ware : Mexican Drug Violence Crosses Into US
from Doofiegirl on 06/11/2015 01:01 PMMexico has been a place of beauty and violence for several years. As I reported previously, the violence between government and cartel soldiers has been on the rise. Add to that the clashes between rival cartels and the northern border of Mexico can be a dangerous place to be or live. Shootouts are regularly occurring, and bystanders usually get caught in the crossfire. Now there is a report that U.S. personnel have been involved in the violence. My San Antonio reports: http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/article/U-S-helicopter-shot-while-patrolling-Mexican-6310535.php
The FBI and the Texas Rangers said Saturday they have launched an investigation into the downing of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter near the Rio Grande in Laredo.
CBP said the helicopter "was struck several times by ground fire" about 5 p.m. on Friday. The rounds penetrated and damaged the aircraft and forced the pilot to make an emergency landing. No one was injured in the incident.
Not to make more of this than there is, but it must be pointed out. The cartel shot down an American helicopter while patrolling our border. This helicopter was not in Mexico, and it had no intentions of operating in Mexico. It was well within the bounds of normal operations. Drug cartels regularly attack Mexican police and federal officers, but this is rare. It points to the fact that things are getting worse and moving north.
This has caught the attention of Congress.

Walid Shoebat : Muslims Slaughter Innocents as Obama Declares That ISIS Terrorists be Given Good Treatment
from Doofiegirl on 06/11/2015 12:52 PMWhen it comes to a comparison between U.S. President Obama and Egypt's Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi, the latter proves to be the better man, since the first wants air conditioning and medical support for ISIS terrorists. Here is how the story goes: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi recently appealed to the United States to play a greater role in helping his country fight terrorism, telling Fox News that while the U.S. has helped Egypt for decades, Egypt needs that help "more than ever," and wants to see a "big response from capable countries." http://freedomoutpost.com/?s=ISIS+terrorists http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/192380#.VXllq_lVhBc
Al-Sisi's government is threatened from ISIS in Libya and the Sinai.
So what does Obama do? The Obama administration, as it was just revealed, has sent Congress a report that harshly criticizes the Egyptian government. The report states: "An unknown number of individuals accused of various crimes have spent extended periods in pretrial detention without charge," the report said, according to AP, adding, "Conditions in prisons and detention centers are harsh due to overcrowding, physical abuse, inadequate medical care and poor ventilation. " http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/196458#.VXll2vlVhBc
The report accusing Egypt of restricting free speech, arresting political dissidents and undermining democracy, The Associated Press (AP) reported Monday. The six-page ridiculous report, quietly submitted to lawmakers last month, said that "except in rare instances, police and security forces have not been held accountable for alleged human rights violations," objecting on Egypt's decision to expand the jurisdiction of military courts to try civilians.
What Al-Sisi is fighting and has filled its prisons are terrorists. If the Obama Administration cares to watch what Egyptian security forces face, here, a shocking video just came out today showing what happens to secret Egyptian intelligence. It was just captured by ISIS in the Sinai Peninsula, showing how they are forced to dig their own graves:

from Bozette on 06/11/2015 12:39 PMDrugs may have been a reason for chasing him and questioning him...had nothing to do with his arrest, however.
The autopsy is routinely kept from the public, she has to share it with the defense under discovery.

Blake Neff : Allahu Akbar! Suicide Jihadis Blow Themselves Up While Fighting Each Other
from Doofiegirl on 06/11/2015 12:36 PMTwo suspected terrorist bombers in Pakistan died amusing deaths over the weekend when a fight between them led to a bomb detonation that killed them and nobody else.
The two men, identified by police as Ghulam Rasul and Muhammad Sultan, were having a conversation on a park bench in Sargodha that suddenly escalated into a verbal argument and then a physical fight. During the fight, an explosive carried by one of the two men detonated, killing them both.
Accounts differ on the exact nature of the explosion. According to Ayrnews.tv, one or both suicide vests worn by the men blew up in the fight, while The Express Tribune says one of the men was carrying an improved explosive device that detonated.
It's currently unknown where the explosion was accidental or intentional on the part of one of the men. Nobody else was harmed.
The fight was fortuitously timed, as police say the men were very close to a crowded area where casualties could have been far higher.
Following the explosions, police investigated the mens' homes and made arrests of suspected collaborators as well.
It's hardly the first time terrorists have managed to kill themselves in an amusing way. In 1999, Palestinian car bombers killed themselves when confusion over Daylight Savings Time caused their bombs to detonate an hour early. In 2014, a terrorist trainer in northern Iraq accidentally killed his class while giving a demonstration with live explosives. http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/06/allahu-akbar-suicide-jihadis-blow-themselves-up-while-fighting-each-other/#CMaquFsepapsc2sj.99
