Congressman Introduces Bill to Get U.S. Out of UN : by Alex Newman

Citing wasted tax dollars and attacks on the constitutionally guaranteed liberties of the American people, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.; shown) introduced a bill to restore U.S. sovereignty and withdraw from the United Nations. The effort to de-fund and exit the UN comes amid growing scrutiny of the global organization, often ridiculed as the "dictators club," and myriad mega-scandals swirling around it. Marriage: It’s Not Political; It’s Biblical : Dr. James Taylor

Dozens of books have been written in recent years by liberal theologians in an attempt to demonstrate that homosexuality, homosexual relationships, and homosexual marriage are fully consistent with Biblical Christianity. I have grown weary of reading that King David was a homosexual because he loved Jonathan, or that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of a lack of hospitality, or — my personal favorite — that the Bible never actually addresses the issue of homosexual behavior. I would suggest that the fact that some of such foolishness comes from persons who once professed to be Christians is yet further evidence of the fact that the nation — indeed the world — is well along in the Biblically-foretold age of apostasy. During such a period, we are warned about the prevalence of false teachers. How can we tell whether a teacher is false? Who can we rely on? But for the fact that we have the Word of God, we would be adrift on such matters.

One ubiquitous question asked among Christians for a decade has been: What Would Jesus Do? A recent article by Dave Daubenmire thoughtfully addressed the topic: Would Jesus Officiate at a Same Sex Marriage? His article discusses how we can know, for certain, the answer to this question by studying exactly what His Father has revealed to us through the Holy Scriptures as to what He intended marriage to be. Obama’s Failed ‘War On Poverty’ : Donald Devine

In his bow to holding a "conversation" about the poor, supported by two other progressives at liberal Georgetown University against one lone conservative, President Barack Obama's big idea was to "invest" more to combat poverty, especially minority poverty.

"We, as a society, have the capacity to make a real difference. But it will cost us some money."                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Heritage Foundation welfare expert Robert Rector shows that the national government has spent $22 trillion (excluding Social Security and Medicare) — more than $70,000 for every person in America — since 1964 to support President Lyndon Johnson's "war on poverty."

It is true that 82 percent of poor adults today report that they were never hungry at any time in the prior year due to lack of money to buy food. But the most obvious results have been increased dependency, lower employment, dysfunctional central cities, and the decimation of the black family, all of which the president acknowledged

President Obama's solution was to invest more in earlier childhood education, starting now at three and four years old, with better paid teachers and more infrastructure. He Marched Next To MLK, Now He Has This Blunt Message For ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement : Randy DeSoto

A Memphis businessman and civil rights leader with a storied past has a message for his fellow African Americans: "Black lives matter. So let's quit killing each other."

He believed in and wanted to share the message so much that he placed it on a large billboard next to his insurance agency in the city.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Fred Davis, born in 1938, lived through the momentous civil rights era and was able to witness firsthand some of its watershed events. He marched right beside Martin Luther King, Jr. during the famous leader's last protest march and sat with him on the stage during his last speech before an assassin's bullet cut him down in Memphis in April 1968.

Davis, in fact, was chairman of the Public Works Committee of the Memphis City Council during the sanitation workers strike in 1968, which had brought King to town. PROF TELLS COLORADANS: CARRY GUNS ; 'I'm not going to be out there and not armed'

Residents of northern Colorado are being warned by a professor who is an expert in criminology to start carrying weapons.

"I'm not going to be out there and not armed," said Don Lindley, a longtime professor at Regis University who has a doctorate in criminology and has studied a number of serial killers.

He spoke with the Fort Collins Coloradoan as police in several jurisdictions investigated a series of shootings that may be the work of a serial killer.

On April 22, Cori Romero of Milliken was driving on Interstate 25 around 11 p.m. when she was shot through the neck. She survived. Then on May 18 Windsor resident John Jacoby, 47, was fatally shot while he was riding his bike only a few miles from where Romero was attacked. On June 3, Loveland resident Bill Connelle, 65, was shot and killed.

Lindley said he believes the attacker will try to strike again, and there's only one option: self-defense.

"I know a lot of citizens have this belief that just because they are a nice person that no one will hurt them. That's not true," he told the Fort Collins newspaper. "We are all very vulnerable. If we are going to be in charge of our own safety, we need to have our own tools to protect our safety. ... We need to be armed."

He cautioned people should do it right.

"If you look around and see all of these gun stores teaching firearms training, there is a reason for that," he said. 'Law enforcement does a hell of a job, but they can't protect everyone."

Investigators hunting for clues in the shootings include local police department representatives as well as the FBI, and the first two shootings already have been linked.

$900,000 study's hired actors clogged VA health system with phony maladies

                                                                                                                                                                               A Veterans Administration researcher used actors and pressured veterans into participating in a "secret shopper"-style project, and now the House Veteran Affairs Committee is investigating how the agency spent $900,000 for the faked study.

The head of the study, Dr. Saul Weiner, professor of medicine, pediatrics and medical education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, admitted actors were hired to portray veterans, according to a letter from the committee chairman, Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo.

"The actors wore hidden microphones to capture the physician-patient interaction; feigned symptoms that took real appointment slots from veterans and tied up facility resources, such as lab tests, while health-care professionals sought answers to the actor's fake maladies," Coffman said.

The letter was directed to Carolyn Clancy, the interim under secretary for health at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Wiener was approved a grant of at least $900,000 for a study "to improve staff and provide attention to veterans' individual circumstances and needs ... when assisting them or planning their care," according to the June 3 letter from Coffman.

The study, described as akin to a "secret shopper" program where people anonymously rate a business' service, was supposed to measure the effectiveness of the interaction between VA doctors and their patients during appointments. The goal was to make doctors' visits more patient-centered. Actors posing as patients presented themselves with made-up maladies and secretly recorded their interaction with the doctors for analysis.

In the letter, Coffman addressed many unusual and troubling aspects of the study.

For one thing, he reported, VA physicians "were forewarned that 'patients' would be 'wired' in order to capture the physician-patient dialogue."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              And when veterans voiced concerns "about the misuse of resources," Weiner "purportedly began enlisting actual veterans from facility waiting rooms."

"According to complaints filed with the local union, some veterans did not want to participate, but in at least one instance, a veteran was badgered at least four times to do so."

Coffman said veterans "noted concerns that, if they did not participate, they would be 'flagged' as uncooperative and might be retaliated against by the facility."

"In these instances, those veterans who did participate alerted the physician by handwritten note that they were being recorded during the physician-patient interaction. Apparently, none of the veterans used in this study signed a consent form to participate."

The study was conducted in several hospitals in the Great Lakes Veterans Integrated Services Network, including the Hines VA Hospital, which has been engulfed in scandal, with one of the worst wait times in the country.

"Firstly, the improper use of VA resources for actors' fake maladies is beyond comprehension given VA's wait time scandal and spending scandal," the letter stated.

Americans say they'd rather live in neighborhoods with guns: Jim Kouri

An overwhelming majority of American voters say they would rather live in a neighborhood where residents have the option of owning a gun than to live where nobody is allowed to be armed, a gun rights expert and advisor to police organizations said on Friday. John Snyder, a former editor for the National Rifle Association (NRA) points to a Rasmussen national poll released on Friday reveals that mere 22 percent of likely voters say they would feel safer if they live in a community in which no one is allowed to own a gun. But whopping 68 percent of respondents say they would feel safer in a neighborhood where gun ownership by residents is allowed.
